How do you feel with the lock down rules adjusting? Are you classed as high-risk and still shielding? Or are you waiting by the door ready for those pubs to open? The support and sense of community through social media/ technology during this pandemic, has been truly remarkable. I have seen families supporting each other in all sorts of ways, not only emotionally but by sharing their own experiences helping with daily struggles. For example; home schooling, the heat wave, tantrums, lack of sleep, G+T recipes and welcoming babies’ home to this ‘new normal’.

Thousands of babies have been born during lockdown, with not only the worries all mothers would face when giving birth. But the added stress of Covid, possibly only a few walls away. Mumma’s having limited support only via technology, hours or maybe days in labour. With fathers or close family members anxiously sitting in the hospital car park waiting for ‘the call’.

To those families who have had babies during lockdown, this blog is to you. You’re incredibly strong even if you may not feel like it. Now it’s time to spend it resting and nesting, at least that’s one thing lockdown will make sure of. When you feel the time is right, reach out to other families who might be going through similar experiences, talk to your friends or contact me. Enjoy your 'new normal' that being parenthood and the joys that it brings.

A shout out to my niece and nephew being born only a few weeks ago, with another niece on the way and a close friend expecting number 2.

All the best,

Taylor Made Nanny
